ECONOMICS major reflects on fed challenge

After URI’s first participation in the Federal Reserve Challenge, Nathan Anderson, a senior economics major, provides insight on his experience. Here is what he had to say: “The class as a whole was interesting. I enjoyed the style of researching topics on our own, putting together PowerPoint presentations, presenting them, and then having questions asked about what we researched. I feel as though that helped us when it came to the final presentation. I was very nervous about presenting in front of people when the class started; however doing it every class helped me become more confident in my presentation skills and I was ready when the time came for the final presentation… Going to Boston was an amazing experience even though we were severely outclassed by everyone there. I spoke to a couple of other teams, and they all had at least a whole semester to work on their final presentation. This gave them time to practice and perfect what they were talking about and prepare additional information.. Overall, this was probably the best and most interesting economics class I have taken and I would recommend  other students to take this class.”
